Can we make AI and AR empathetic?

We'll be discussing how AI (artificial intelligence) and AR (augmented reality) are being developed at Snap and asking whether they can be made to be empathetic technologies.

This session gives students a rare chance to meet employees who are working at Snapchat and directly ask them questions about their work and the role of empathy in the technologies they're developing. We believe that students should be shown how social media and technology can be used for empathy and to positively change the world.

Opportunity?

Students get to listen and directly engage with Snap staff. Being able to ask questions directly to one of the largest tech companies in the world and learn about careers too!

13+ only (this is a legal requirement and not guidance as Snap's platform is only for 13+)

...students must be accompanied online by a teacher from my school at all times during the panel discussion and must all be at least 13 years old.

...students are required to be respectful in language and behaviour throughout the session. If any student persistently disrupts the session, they will be removed from the call.

...neither I, my school or any of our students should record any of the virtual lesson or distribute virtual lesson content as consent has not been granted for this.

I understand that any safeguarding concerns will be reported to the designated member of staff at my school.
